The International Plowing Match & Rural Expo continues through Saturday, September 26th in Finch, Ontario. A great event to learn more about the rural lifestyle in Ontario.

The Latter-Day Saints of Jesus Christ Church in Windsor, Ontario is holding its annual Family History Fair., 10 am - 4 pm at 3550 Forest Glade Drive, Windsor, Ontario.  Steve Fulton of Niagara Branch, Ontario Genealogical Society will be speaking.

The Halton-Peel Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society will be holding its monthly meeting this Sunday, September 27th. Guest speaker is Christine Woodcock of Genealogy Tours of Scotland. She will be presenting "Lesser Known Databases for Scottish Research."

The Kingston & District Branch, UELAC meeting will be at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Kingston, Ontario at 1:00 pm. Guest speaker is Nigel Day of the Ministry of Transportation. He will be speaking about the surveying of the lands before Loyalist settlement, 1784.

All Week-end

Many communities in Ontario are having Doors Open events this week-end. This is a terrific opportunity to visit those homes and buildings in communities that are rarely open to the public.

Doors Open London is happening this weekend in the London, Ontario area. Be sure to visit Fanshawe Pioneer Village for the BHCGI British Home Child Day event. More details can be found on the BHCGI Facebook event page or on the British Home Child Group International (BHCGI) website.
The London & Western Ontario Branch, UELAC will be at the event as well.

Ancestry.ca has added Montreal, non-Catholic baptism, marriage and burial indexes, 1766-1899.
