Genealogy CUE for Weekend of October 9 - 11, 2015

Happy Thanksgiving! Here's your Genealogy Canada Updates and Events for this holiday weekend.

All Weekend

Not surprisingly there's not much of anything going on this week-end for organized family history events. Most Canadians will be celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends. Why not celebrate Family History Month as well? Share family stories, take lots of photos, ask for DNA samples, or go for a cemetery walk.

If you're in Toronto this weekend you might want to take advantage of the FREE ROMWalk: Heart of Toronto

FamilySearch has released new and updated Canadian family history databases:
British Columbia Death Registrations, 1872-1996; 1992-1993

British Columbia Marriage Registrations, 1859-1932; 1937 - just released today!

Here are a few more that have been released / updated in the past few weeks:
Quebec, Quebec Federation of Genealogical Societies, Family Origins, 1621-1865

Prince Edward Island Death Card Index, 1721-1905

Eat turkey, stuff yourself full of dressing, mashed potatoes and pie, and then research your family history. It's the perfect weekend to do so.
