What is a Webinar? 

A webinar is a virtual presentation that takes place over the Internet, and is viewed through your group's computer at your meeting place.

How Does it Work?

Choose a topic from the Presentations page.
Pick one or two dates.
Email Kathryn at kathryn[at]looking4ancestors[dot]com requesting a webinar with your chosen topic and dates.

Kathryn will set up the your group's webinar via the GotoWebinar.com platform; there is no need for your group to subscribe to this service. Your group contact person will be sent an email with the unique event ID allowing access to the webinar.  At the scheduled time, using your group's computer, log in to the webinar using the unique event ID to watch and hear Kathryn's presentation.

Not sure about this? Don't worry! Kathryn will work with your society's contact person in a 10-15 minute technical practise session 7-10 days before your society's event.

What Equipment is Needed?

  • Computer with high-speed Internet access
  • LCD projector and screen
  • Microphone and speakers to amplify the sound of the webinar
  • Headset with microphone for society contact person to communicate to presenter
