Genea-Blogger Group Games Update

Well, it is getting close to the end of the Genea-blogger Group Games 2008. And, although I have not posted any of my results within the last week or so, do not let that fool you, my fellow genea-blogger competitors. I have been quite busy in the last few days. I am known for working extremely well under pressure!

Current Results to date:

Category 1 - Cite Your Sources
My source entries to date is 107. I spent the last few days properly citing England census records. Many of those source entries were "do-overs" from years ago. All source entries were cited following the "Evidence Explained" by Elizabeth Shown Mills.

Medal level: Platinum

Category 2 - Back Up Your Data
The equipment needed for these events has been purchased. Will be competing in these events tomorrow.

Category 3 - Organize Your Research
Spent all of this afternoon working on the events in this category. I completed events B, D, and E.
Medal level: Gold

Category 4 - Write, write, write
Event A - Summary of my blog. You can read it
here.

Event B - Participate in a genealogy carnival.
I participated in the
4th Edition of Smile for the Camera. My entry on my blog is Kindergarten Baby. I also participated in the meme "Soundtracks of My Salad Days" hosted by Tim at Walking the Berkshires. My entry was called Turn It Up!

Event C - Prepare several posts in draft mode.
I have three more Wordless Wednesday posts created in draft mode and are scheduled to be posted over the next few weeks. This past week's WW post was created in draft mode and pre-posted.

Event D - Write a brief biographical sketch of one your ancestors.
Just completed this event this evening. The biographical sketch is about my grandmother,
Dorothy May Evans.

Medal level: Diamond

Category 5 - Genealogical Acts of Kindness
Event A - Comment on a new (to me) genea-blog.
Did that
here, when I commented on Elyse's Genealogy Blog.

Event B - Join other genea-blogger's blog networks on facebook.
I did really well in this event. I joined Itawamba History Review, Memory Lane and Elsye's Genealogy Blog networks plus a few more.

Event E - Participate in an indexing project.
Currently, I am a volunteer transcriber of the
1852 Census of the Province of Canada index at Automated Genealogy. I am transcribing pages for the town of Burford, Brant County in Canada West. I enjoy transcribing census records, so I try to complete two or three census pages a day.

Medal level: Gold

Now I need to get some rest, so I can finish strong tomorrow!
